Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Urbance Technologies Inc. collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use our platform and services.

Last updated: February 25, 2026 Governed by Canadian law (PIPEDA) Effective upon platform use
1

Introduction

  • 1.1Urbance Technologies Inc. ("Urbance," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the personal information of all individuals who use our platform, website, and services (collectively, the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of British Columbia.
  • 1.2By accessing or using the Platform — whether as a customer seeking home services or as a service provider ("Provider") offering services through the Platform — you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described herein.
  • 1.3This Privacy Policy forms part of and should be read together with Urbance's Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service with respect to data handling, this Privacy Policy shall govern.
  • 1.4We may collect, use, or disclose personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, and only with the knowledge and consent of the individual, except where otherwise provided by law.
  • 1.5Urbance has designated a Privacy Officer who is accountable for compliance with this Policy and who can be reached at the contact information provided in Section 18 of this document.
🔒

Your Privacy Matters

Urbance collects only the personal information necessary to operate the platform and connect you with home service professionals. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

2

Scope of This Policy

  • 2.1This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected by Urbance Technologies Inc. in connection with the Platform, including through: (a) the Urbance website at www.urbance.ca; (b) Urbance mobile applications; (c) the Urbance provider portal at pros.urbance.ca; (d) email, phone, or other communications with Urbance; and (e) any third-party integrations operated in connection with the Platform.
  • 2.2This Policy applies to both registered users and unregistered visitors to the Platform. Visitors who do not create accounts are subject to the provisions regarding technical data collection, cookies, and analytics as described in Sections 3.4 and 12.
  • 2.3Exclusions. This Policy does not apply to the practices of third-party services, platforms, or websites that may be linked to or integrated with the Urbance Platform. Urbance is not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party service providers, including Stripe for payment processing, Supabase for data infrastructure, or any other third-party tool. Users should review the privacy policies of those services independently.
  • 2.4This Policy does not apply to any information that is: (a) publicly available; (b) anonymized or de-identified such that it cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual; or (c) aggregated statistical data used for platform analytics or reporting.
  • 2.5This Policy governs personal information collected in Canada, primarily in the Province of British Columbia. Users accessing the Platform from outside of Canada are advised that Canadian privacy law governs the processing of their information.

Information We Collect

  • 3.1Urbance collects only the personal information that is necessary to provide the Platform, facilitate bookings, process payments, ensure safety and compliance, and improve user experience. The categories of information we collect are described below.

3.2 — Personal Information

  • Full legal name — used for account identification and booking records.
  • Email address — used for account authentication, booking confirmations, and communications.
  • Phone number — used for booking coordination and optional two-factor authentication.
  • Residential or service address — used to match Customers with available Providers in the correct service area.
  • Profile photograph (optional for Customers; required for Providers) — used for trust and verification purposes on the Platform.
  • Date of birth (Providers only) — used for age verification and identity screening purposes.
  • Government-issued identification (Providers only, upon request) — used for identity verification and background screening.

  • Account type (Customer or Provider) and registration date.
  • Service preferences and history — including prior bookings, service categories, ratings, and reviews submitted.
  • Communication history — messages exchanged through the Platform's in-app messaging system.
  • Provider credentials — trade licenses, certifications, insurance certificates, and WorkSafeBC registration where applicable.

3.4 — Payment Information

  • Payment transactions on the Platform are processed exclusively through Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment processor.
  • Urbance does not collect, store, or process full credit card numbers, CVV codes, or bank account numbers.
  • Urbance retains only a Stripe customer token, last four digits of the payment method, card type, and billing postal code for customer service and dispute resolution purposes.
  • Providers may provide banking information for direct deposit of service earnings. This information is transmitted directly to Stripe and is not stored on Urbance servers.
  • Transaction records, including booking amounts, platform fees, and payout records, are retained for accounting, tax compliance, and legal purposes.
🛡️

Payment Data Security

Urbance never stores full payment card numbers. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, which maintains the highest level of PCI-DSS compliance. Your card details go directly to Stripe — not to Urbance's servers.

4

How We Use Your Information

  • 4.1Urbance uses your personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected or for directly related purposes. The primary purposes for which we use personal information are listed below.
  • 4.2Platform Operation. To create and manage your account; authenticate your identity; process bookings and payments; facilitate communications between Customers and Providers; and deliver platform functionality including booking confirmations, receipts, and service notifications.
  • 4.3Service Matching & Coordination. To match Customer service requests with available Providers based on location, service type, availability, and ratings; to communicate booking details to the relevant Provider; and to enable real-time coordination for service delivery.
  • 4.4Payment Processing. To facilitate payment authorization, charge processing, Provider payouts, refund handling, and the generation of tax receipts and financial records as required by applicable law.
  • 4.5Safety & Trust. To verify Provider identities and credentials; to conduct or facilitate background screening; to monitor for fraudulent, abusive, or prohibited activity on the Platform; and to investigate and resolve complaints, disputes, and safety incidents.
  • 4.6Customer Support. To respond to inquiries, complaints, and support requests; to investigate reported problems; to enforce our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and other policies; and to communicate Platform updates or service-affecting changes.
  • 4.7Legal & Regulatory Compliance. To comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, and lawful government requests; to maintain records required for tax, accounting, and audit purposes; and to exercise or defend legal rights in disputes or proceedings.
  • 4.8Platform Improvement. To analyze user behavior, session data, and feature usage in order to identify issues, improve functionality, develop new features, and optimize the Platform experience for all users. This analysis is typically conducted on anonymized or aggregated data wherever possible.
  • 4.9Marketing & Communications. With your consent (where required by law), to send you promotional offers, service updates, newsletters, or information about new features. You may withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in each message or by contacting us at privacy@urbance.ca. Withdrawal of marketing consent does not affect the receipt of transactional communications necessary for your use of the Platform.
  • 4.10Fraud Prevention & Security. To detect, prevent, investigate, and respond to potential fraud, unauthorized access, security incidents, and other harmful or prohibited activity on the Platform. Urbance may use automated systems and human review for this purpose.
  • 4.11Urbance will not use your personal information for any purpose materially different from those described in this Section without obtaining your prior consent or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law.
6

How We Share Information

  • 6.1Urbance does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing or commercial purposes. We share personal information only in the limited circumstances described in this Section.
  • 6.2Between Customers and Providers. When a booking is confirmed, Urbance shares the minimum necessary information between the relevant Customer and Provider to enable service delivery. This includes: (a) the Customer's first name, service address, service description, and scheduled time; and (b) the Provider's name, profile photo, trade credentials, and contact information for coordination purposes. Full contact details are not shared until a booking is confirmed.
  • 6.3Service Providers. Urbance shares information with trusted third-party service providers who assist in operating the Platform, subject to contractual confidentiality obligations. These providers include:
  • Supabase — cloud database and authentication infrastructure (data stored in hosted cloud environments).
  • Stripe — payment processing, payout management, and fraud detection.
  • Google Analytics or equivalent — anonymous usage analytics and session tracking.
  • Email delivery providers — for transactional emails and notifications (e.g., SendGrid or equivalent).
  • Background screening providers (Providers only) — for identity and criminal record verification where applicable.
  • Cloud hosting and content delivery providers — for Platform infrastructure and performance.
  • 6.4Legal Obligations. Urbance may disclose personal information if required to do so by applicable law, regulation, court order, or lawful government authority. We will, where legally permissible, attempt to notify affected users of such disclosure requests before complying.
  • 6.5Business Transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, asset sale, financing, or restructuring of Urbance Technologies Inc., personal information held by Urbance may be transferred to the successor entity as part of that transaction. We will notify users of any such transfer and any material changes to data handling practices that may result. Such transfers will be subject to the same privacy protections described in this Policy.
  • 6.6Safety & Fraud Prevention. Urbance may share information where it believes in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent fraud, protect the safety of users or the public, or prevent or investigate criminal activity or a violation of our Terms of Service.
  • 6.7Aggregated / De-identified Data. Urbance may share de-identified, aggregated data (which does not identify any individual) with business partners, industry groups, or for public reporting purposes. No personal information is disclosed in this form.
  • 6.8With Your Consent. Urbance may share your information with any third party to which you have given explicit consent, including when you connect a third-party account or authorize an integration through the Platform.
⚠️

Third-Party Responsibility

Urbance is not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party service provider, including Stripe and Supabase. Once data is transmitted to a third-party processor, it is governed by that provider's privacy policy. We recommend reviewing their policies independently.

7

Marketplace Data Role

  • 7.1Urbance operates as a technology marketplace that facilitates connections between independent Customers and independent Providers. In the context of data processing, Urbance acts as the primary data controller for personal information collected through the Platform in connection with account management, payment processing, and platform operations.
  • 7.2Platform vs. Provider Distinction. Providers are independent contractors and are not agents or employees of Urbance. When a Provider receives Customer information for the purpose of fulfilling a booking (such as the Customer's name and service address), the Provider assumes data handling responsibilities for that information in their capacity as an independent service professional. Urbance does not control how Providers use Customer information received outside of the Platform environment.
  • 7.3All Providers agree, as a condition of using the Platform, that they will: (a) use Customer personal information only for the purpose of fulfilling the relevant booking; (b) not retain Customer personal information beyond the term of the booking engagement; (c) not use Customer information for independent marketing, solicitation, or any purpose unrelated to the booked service; and (d) comply with all applicable privacy laws in their handling of Customer data.
  • 7.4Similarly, Customer information shared via the Platform's messaging or booking system should not be used by Providers to solicit off-platform bookings, which constitutes a violation of the Provider Agreement and these Terms.
  • 7.5Urbance's Data Limitation. Urbance retains Customer information shared for booking purposes but does not have visibility into any direct communications or exchanges that may occur between Customers and Providers outside of the Platform environment. Urbance's privacy obligations extend only to information processed through the Platform.
ℹ️

Platform Intermediary Role

Urbance shares only the minimum necessary Customer and Provider information required to fulfill a confirmed booking. Providers are contractually prohibited from using Customer data for any purpose other than delivering the booked service.

8

Data Retention Policy

  • 8.1Urbance retains personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable law. The specific retention periods described in this Section reflect the minimum operational, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to our Platform.
  • 8.2Active Account Data. Personal information associated with an active user account is retained for the duration of the account's active status and for a reasonable period thereafter to enable account reactivation, respond to inquiries, or handle any outstanding matters related to the account.
  • 8.3Booking & Transaction Records. Records of completed bookings, payments, and transactions are retained for a minimum of seven (7) years from the date of the transaction to comply with applicable tax laws, accounting standards, and financial record-keeping requirements under Canadian law.
  • 8.4Dispute & Legal Matters. Where a booking is subject to a dispute, complaint, legal proceeding, or regulatory investigation, relevant records will be retained for the duration of the proceeding and for a reasonable period thereafter as required by law or legal counsel.
  • 8.5Identity & Verification Records. Provider identity verification documents and background screening records are retained for the duration of the Provider's active status on the Platform and for a minimum of three (3) years following account closure, to comply with legal obligations and to address potential future claims.
  • 8.6Communications & Support Logs. Customer support communications, in-platform messages, and live chat transcripts are retained for up to two (2) years from the date of the communication, or longer if associated with an unresolved matter.
  • 8.7Anonymized Data. Urbance may retain de-identified or aggregated data derived from personal information indefinitely for analytical, research, and platform improvement purposes, provided that such data cannot be used to identify any individual.
  • 8.8Upon the expiry of applicable retention periods, personal information will be securely deleted or anonymized in a manner that prevents recovery or reconstruction. Urbance does not guarantee immediate deletion in all cases due to the nature of distributed database systems; residual data may persist in backup systems for a period before purge cycles are completed.
9

Security Measures

  • 9.1Urbance implements industry-standard technical, administrative, and physical security measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal, or destruction.
  • 9.2Technical Safeguards. Our security measures include:
  • Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS) — all data transmitted between your device and the Urbance Platform is encrypted in transit using current TLS standards.
  • Encrypted data storage — sensitive personal data fields are encrypted at rest using AES-256 or equivalent encryption standards.
  • Password hashing — user passwords are never stored in plaintext; they are hashed using industry-standard bcrypt or equivalent algorithms via Supabase Auth.
  • Access controls — access to personal data is restricted to Urbance personnel and authorized systems with a demonstrable need-to-know, and is governed by role-based access control policies.
  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) — available for user accounts and enforced for all administrative access to Platform infrastructure.
  • Automated threat monitoring — Urbance employs automated systems to detect anomalous access patterns, brute-force attempts, and other security incidents.
  • Vulnerability management — regular security assessments and code reviews are conducted to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • 9.3Payment Security. All payment card data is processed by Stripe, which maintains PCI-DSS Level 1 certification — the highest level of payment security compliance. Urbance does not transmit, receive, or store full card numbers, and is therefore not in scope for direct PCI-DSS obligations with respect to card data.
  • 9.4Data Breach Response. In the event of a data breach involving personal information, Urbance will act promptly to contain the breach, assess the risk of harm to affected individuals, and notify affected users and the appropriate regulatory authority (the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of BC, as applicable) within the timeframes required by applicable law. Notifications will include a description of the incident, the type of information affected, and recommended steps for affected individuals.
  • 9.5No Absolute Guarantee. While Urbance employs robust security measures, no method of electronic transmission or data storage is completely secure. Urbance cannot guarantee absolute security and accepts no liability for unauthorized access to personal information that occurs despite our reasonable security measures, except where such access is the direct result of our own negligence or willful misconduct.
  • 9.6Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their account credentials. You should use a strong, unique password and enable multi-factor authentication where available. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, notify Urbance immediately at security@urbance.ca.
🔐

Enterprise-Grade Infrastructure

Urbance's Platform runs on Supabase-managed cloud infrastructure with encrypted storage, TLS in transit, and bcrypt password hashing. Payment data is exclusively handled by Stripe's PCI-DSS Level 1 certified systems.

10

Your Privacy Rights

  • 10.1Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information held by Urbance. To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Privacy Officer using the information in Section 18.
  • 10.2Right of Access. You have the right to request confirmation of whether Urbance holds personal information about you, and to request a copy of that information. We will respond to access requests within 30 days of receipt, or within the extended timeframe permitted by applicable law where the request is complex.
  • 10.3Right of Correction. You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date personal information. Where correction is disputed, Urbance will annotate the record to indicate the correction was requested but declined, along with your statement of the correction sought.
  • 10.4Right to Withdraw Consent. Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred prior to withdrawal, and may result in the inability to access certain Platform features.
  • 10.5Right to Opt Out of Marketing. You may unsubscribe from promotional communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by emailing privacy@urbance.ca. Note that opting out of marketing does not affect transactional and operational emails (e.g., booking confirmations, receipts).
  • 10.6Right to Request Deletion. You may request the deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to Urbance's obligations to retain certain data under applicable law (see Section 8 and Section 11). Deletion requests that conflict with legal retention obligations will result in anonymization of non-required data rather than complete deletion.
  • 10.7Right to Lodge a Complaint. If you are dissatisfied with how Urbance handles your personal information, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca, or with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at www.oipc.bc.ca.
  • 10.8Urbance will respond to privacy rights requests within 30 calendar days of receipt of a valid, written request. Where a request is refused, Urbance will provide written reasons and information about the recourse available to you.
  • 10.9Urbance may require verification of your identity before processing a privacy rights request to prevent unauthorized access to or modification of another individual's personal information.
11

Account Deletion & Data Removal

  • 11.1You may request the closure and deletion of your Urbance account at any time by contacting privacy@urbance.ca or through the account settings area of the Platform where available.
  • 11.2What Gets Deleted. Upon receiving a verified account deletion request, Urbance will: (a) deactivate your account and prevent further login; (b) remove your profile from public-facing areas of the Platform; (c) delete personal information that is not subject to legal retention obligations; and (d) anonymize remaining data that must be retained for compliance purposes.
  • 11.3What Gets Retained. Notwithstanding a deletion request, Urbance will retain the following in accordance with applicable law: (a) transaction and payment records for seven (7) years; (b) records of disputes, complaints, or legal matters until fully resolved; (c) any information required to respond to outstanding legal proceedings or government orders; and (d) de-identified or anonymized analytical data that no longer identifies you personally.
  • 11.4Timing. Account deletion will be completed within 30 business days of receiving a verified request. Data purge from backup systems may take an additional 90 days due to backup rotation schedules.
  • 11.5Effect of Deletion. Deletion of your account is irreversible. All booking history, reviews, messages, and preferences associated with your account will be permanently removed from active systems and cannot be recovered. Urbance cannot be held liable for any loss resulting from account deletion at your request.
  • 11.6Provider Accounts. Provider accounts subject to pending payouts, active bookings, open disputes, or unresolved compliance matters will not be deleted until those matters are resolved. Providers seeking deletion must ensure all outstanding obligations are fulfilled prior to submitting a deletion request.
12

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

  • 12.1The Urbance Platform uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the Platform, analyze usage, and improve user experience. A "cookie" is a small text file placed on your device by a web server. Urbance uses the following categories of cookies:
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take — such as logging in, adding a booking, or setting privacy preferences. The Platform cannot function without these cookies.
Performance & Analytics Cookies
These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve Platform performance. All information collected by these cookies is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies, we will not know when you have visited and cannot improve our service accordingly.
Functional Cookies
These cookies allow the Platform to provide enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your language preference, saved service area, or theme setting. They may be set by Urbance or by third-party providers we use.
Targeting & Marketing Cookies
These cookies may be set by advertising partners to build a profile of your interests and show relevant advertisements. They work by identifying your browser and device uniquely. Urbance does not currently use third-party advertising cookies but may do so in the future with appropriate notice and consent mechanisms.
  • 12.2Managing Cookies. Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You may set your browser to refuse all cookies, to notify you when a cookie is set, or to delete cookies upon closing. Note that restricting strictly necessary cookies may impair your ability to use the Platform. Information on managing cookies is available at allaboutcookies.org.
  • 12.3Web Beacons & Pixels. In addition to cookies, Urbance may use web beacons (also called pixel tags or clear GIFs) — tiny transparent image files — to track user behavior on the Platform and in emails. Web beacons help us understand whether emails have been opened and whether links have been clicked.
  • 12.4Local Storage. The Platform may use browser local storage and session storage to retain preference data and session state information. This data is stored on your device and is not transmitted to Urbance servers unless explicitly required for Platform operation.
  • 12.5By continuing to use the Platform, you consent to the use of strictly necessary and functional cookies. For analytics and marketing cookies, your consent will be sought through an in-Platform consent mechanism where required by applicable law.
13

Third-Party Services

  • 13.1The Urbance Platform integrates with and relies on several third-party service providers to deliver its functionality. These providers process certain personal information as part of their services. Urbance is not responsible for the privacy practices of these providers, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies directly.
  • 13.2Stripe (Payment Processing). All payment processing on the Urbance Platform is handled by Stripe, Inc. Stripe is a PCI-DSS Level 1 Service Provider and processes payment card information, banking information, and payout data on behalf of Urbance and its Providers. Stripe's Privacy Policy is available at stripe.com/en-ca/privacy. Urbance does not store full payment card numbers; all card data goes directly to Stripe's secure systems.
  • 13.3Supabase (Database & Authentication). Urbance uses Supabase as its primary backend infrastructure provider for database management, user authentication, and real-time data services. Supabase processes personal information including account data, booking records, and message content. Supabase's Privacy Policy is available at supabase.com/privacy. Data stored on Supabase infrastructure is encrypted at rest and in transit.
  • 13.4Google Analytics (Usage Analytics). Urbance may use Google Analytics or similar analytics services to collect anonymized data about Platform usage, including page views, session durations, and user flow. Google Analytics data is de-identified and aggregated and does not identify individual users. Google's Privacy Policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • 13.5Email Communications Providers. Urbance uses third-party email delivery services (such as SendGrid or a comparable provider) to deliver transactional emails, booking confirmations, notifications, and marketing communications. These providers process your email address and email metadata to facilitate delivery. Email service providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than email delivery.
  • 13.6Background Screening Providers. For Providers, Urbance may use third-party background check and identity verification services to verify identity, check criminal records, and validate professional credentials. Information submitted for background screening is processed directly by the screening provider pursuant to its own privacy policy, which will be presented to the Provider at the time of screening.
  • 13.7Fonts & CDN Services. The Platform may use Google Fonts, Cloudflare, or other content delivery networks for asset delivery and performance optimization. These services may collect technical data such as IP addresses as part of normal CDN operations.
  • 13.8Urbance enters into data processing agreements with all third-party service providers who handle personal information on our behalf, requiring them to: (a) process data only on our documented instructions; (b) implement appropriate security measures; (c) not transfer data without authorization; and (d) assist with deletion, access, and breach response obligations.
14

Cross-Border Data Transfers

  • 14.1Urbance is a Canadian company headquartered in British Columbia, Canada, and primarily stores and processes data within Canadian cloud infrastructure where available. However, some of our third-party service providers — including Stripe and Supabase — may process or store data in jurisdictions outside of Canada, including the United States and other countries.
  • 14.2By using the Platform, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your personal information to service providers located outside of Canada where necessary for the provision of Platform services. Urbance takes reasonable steps to ensure that such transfers are protected by appropriate contractual safeguards.
  • 14.3US-Based Processing. Certain cloud infrastructure services used by Urbance are operated by US-based providers. US privacy law (including the USA PATRIOT Act and related legislation) may permit US authorities to access personal information held by US-based service providers without consent or notice. Urbance does not control such access and is not liable for the actions of US governmental authorities.
  • 14.4Urbance will use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that service providers located outside Canada afford a comparable level of privacy protection to that required under PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy law. All service providers are contractually required to comply with Urbance's data protection requirements.
  • 14.5If you have concerns about cross-border data transfers or wish to understand which specific jurisdictions your data is processed in, please contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@urbance.ca.
15

Children's Privacy

  • 15.1The Urbance Platform is intended exclusively for adults and is not directed at, and should not be used by, individuals under the age of 18 (or 19 where required by applicable provincial law). Urbance does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
  • 15.2By registering for and using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age (or the applicable age of majority in your province of residence). If Urbance becomes aware that it has inadvertently collected personal information from a person under the applicable age of majority, it will promptly delete that information and deactivate the associated account.
  • 15.3If you believe that a minor has registered for a Platform account or submitted personal information to Urbance without appropriate parental or guardian consent, please notify us immediately at privacy@urbance.ca and we will take prompt corrective action.
  • 15.4Urbance is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) to the extent applicable, and does not permit children to create accounts, make bookings, or purchase services through the Platform.
16

Do Not Track Signals

  • 16.1Some web browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not wish to have your online activity tracked across websites. Currently, there is no universally accepted standard for how websites and applications should respond to DNT signals, and the Platform does not currently alter its data collection practices in response to DNT signals.
  • 16.2Urbance will continue to monitor developments in DNT standards and will update this Policy if and when a recognized standard emerges that the Platform can implement. In the meantime, users who wish to limit tracking may manage their cookie preferences through browser settings as described in Section 12.
  • 16.3Regardless of DNT settings, Urbance's strictly necessary cookies — including session authentication tokens — will continue to operate as they are essential to Platform functionality and cannot be disabled without impairing your ability to use the Platform.
17

Changes to This Policy

  • 17.1Urbance reserves the right to update, modify, or replace this Privacy Policy at any time at its sole discretion. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Policy to the Platform, unless a later effective date is specified in the revised Policy.
  • 17.2Material Changes. If we make material changes to this Policy — such as changes to the categories of information we collect, the purposes for which we use it, or the parties with whom we share it — we will provide prominent notice through one or more of the following methods: (a) an in-platform notification or banner; (b) a notice on the Urbance homepage; or (c) an email to the address associated with your account.
  • 17.3Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of a revised Privacy Policy constitutes your acknowledgment of the changes and your consent to be bound by the updated Policy. If you do not agree to the revised Policy, you must discontinue your use of the Platform and may request account deletion as described in Section 11.
  • 17.4Urbance will maintain an archive of prior versions of this Privacy Policy which can be requested by contacting our Privacy Officer. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy indicates the date of the most recent revision.
  • 17.5We recommend reviewing this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information. Registered users may also receive email notification of significant policy updates.
⚠️

Policy Updates

Urbance may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Your continued use of the Platform after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will be communicated via in-platform notice or email.
